CME-US Inaugural Biennial Book Award

Call For Nominations!

The Center of Muslim Experience in the United States (CME-US) at Arizona State University is proud to announce the call for nominations for its Inaugural Biennial Book Award. 

This award recognizes outstanding scholarship on Muslim experiences in the United States and honors authors whose work brings to light the histories, contributions, and lived realities of American Muslims through rigorous research, thoughtful analysis, and public-facing scholarship. The award highlights work that contributes to a more nuanced, humanized understanding of Muslim American life and its place within the broader American story.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be considered for the 2026 award cycle, submissions must meet the following criteria:

Focus: The work must center on American Muslim scholarship.

Format: Only research-based books are eligible.

Authorship: Books must be single-authored or co-authored only; edited volumes will not be accepted.

Publication Date: Eligible books must have been published in 2024 or 2025.

Award Details

The selected awardee will receive both an honorarium and a certificate of award in recognition of their scholarly contribution.

Submission Window

The nomination period is open from January 16, 2026, through May 15, 2026.
